Fourth Grade is a very exciting year for our nine and ten year olds.  They are learning to be independent thinkers, responsible members of their school community and creative problem solvers.
Fourth graders receive their school Bibles and learn how to navigate through the Old and New Testament.  Reading the Bible helps they learn more about God, their brothers and sisters and the world God gave us.   We begin reading group novels in fourth grade. such as The Wonderful Wizard of Oz and Sarah Plain and Tall.  We do monthly creative book projects.  It is a big year in mathematics as our curriculum includes geometry, fractions, decimals and problem solving.  The missions, Gold Rush and the government in Sacramento are favorite topics in California history.
The fourth grade goes on great field trips including a three day trip to the gold country to experience life of a miner.  We also do a musical play in May. Each student has a singing and dancing part!
