Pastor’s Report

·        Boy’s bathroom:  Update discussed that the bathrooms still need to be repaired.  Research is still being done regarding the entire campus.

Principal’s Report

  • History books are fantastic, with supplemental technology components included.

  • The beginning of school was successful with good energy and a spirit of cooperation.

  • Hiring is complete with the addition of the third-grade aide.

  • The Potluck was a success with a significant attendance.  Families were appreciative of the activities planned in the courtyard for the students by the student council.

  • Back-to-School nights are on track with a computer presentation included.

  • Michael Pritchard is tentatively booked for a motivational presentation for the parents.  A date is pending.

Chairperson’s Report

  •  In review of last month’s minutes, it was discussed whether or not the handbook could be available on the website.  Due to privacy, that would not be feasible but the handbook could be copied to CD and available in that format next year.

  • The Potluck event will be put on next year’s calendar at the same time.

  • The auction chairs will attend the next board meeting to update the board and garner support if necessary.

  • Potential topics for the October general meeting include computer safety, Auction update, and School reports.

  • The PTG survey needs to be completed so that the board can present the survey information at the October meeting.

  • It was requested that the minutes were updated on the website monthly.

  • There is a link on the website that allows anyone to participate in the current fundraiser (Cookie dough, wrapping paper, chocolate) that will not close at the end of the fundraiser.  It will allow people to order all year. Friends and family from afar can support the school in this manner.

  • A presentation was given by Karyn Kambur regarding a ‘Digital Story Book’ that allows classes to capture memories all year long and then upload photos and journaling to an online book. There is no cost for the creation of the book. Once assembled the book is available in approximately 2 weeks. There would then bean option for parents and teachers to buy the book. Proceeds would go directly back to the school.  It was decided that 8th grade should trial this idea.

Treasurer’s Report

  • The Budget was presented and reviewed.

  • It was suggested that we advertise the Cookie Dough, Wrapping paper, and the Christmas luncheon fundraisers in the bulletin to include the parish participation.

  • This year the Christmas luncheon is celebrating it’s 30th year.  Recruitment is ongoing for lead positions.  Many people have signed up to help.

  • The Crab feed has set a date and the time-share week will be raffled at that event.

  • Line items in the budget were adjusted to reflect actual numbers from last year.

  • Once line items were adjusted it was determined that we would be able to assist in supporting the donation for the stained glass windows.  $10,000 will be donated.

8:20 Meeting was adjourned.  The next meeting will be on October 10th, 2006 at 6:00 pm due to the general meeting.
