Principals Report:

  • Brainteasers—The first one will be coming in this Wednesday Window and they will continue weekly for the year.  The contest is for grades 4-8.  Students may work on the brainteasers with their families but students must solve the puzzle to qualify.  If a student solves 3 puzzles out of 4 for the month, he or she will receive recognition for that month.  If a student receives recognition all nine months of the contest, he or she will receive 2 tickets to Waterworld at the end of the year.

  • September 25th—Parish Picnic   The school will be in charge of games.  No volunteers have been solicited.  On the day of the picnic, families will be asked to participate.  All families are encouraged to attend.  This is helping promote unity between the church and the school.

  • October 12th—A panel discussion is being held on the “End of Life” rights.  All families are again encouraged to attend.

  • Enrollment is at 270 students.  More students are joining us in January.

  • Electives—These will begin in October and nine will be offered.  There will be a limit of 12 students per elective.  Some of the electives being offered are chess, photography, economics, drama, basketball, drill team, and website building.

  • Hurricane Katrina—Several projects are in motion to help support the victims of the hurricane.  Half of the wrapping paper fundraiser will be allocated to the relief fund.  There will be a student coin drive and the young St. Vincent society is having a bake sale during school hours.
