Al Angulo, again, did an outstanding job in organizing the event. The dinner was well attended; the live and silent auction very successful. They are now in the process of sending out thank-you notes to participants and sponsors. FROM THE PASTOR: Fr. McCain informed that he will be out of town and not be able to attend Parish picnic, but Fr. Jess will celebrate the Mass at the park. COMMENTS FROM COUNCIL MEMBERS: A discussion ensued about getting more parishioners involved in some of the extra tasks that need to be accomplished. Asking for volunteers does not seem very effective and it is seemingly the same people over and over again that step forward to assist, generally leading to volunteer burn out. It was suggested to make a list of some of the tasks that need attention, make a list of people that could be approached and to call and ask them personally if they could help. The meeting was adjourned at 9:00 pm and Fr. McCain led us in a closing prayer. Respectfully submitted, Holly Holderby, Secretary |
